Reviews about Torre di Pietra Vineyards

Really nice winery. Liked it a lot. The tour guide was so soft spoken, nice guy and really knowledge but needs to be someone a little more peppy for louder or something. But wines were tasty. Ended up buying red flirt. Went on a cold January afternoon so didn't get to walk in the vineyard or eat grapes but still enjoyed it. Also another place where there were good live performers.

We came here on a Monday ... ready to experience some more of the ambiance of Fredericksburg wineries. The interior was a beautiful stone lodge decorated for the holidays. They had a fireplace in front of some comfortable leather cowhide seating area. We asked the wine keep if we could have a fire in the fireplace and he said he hadn’t cleaned out the ashes so probably wasn’t going to start one. He was just on his phone behind the bar and we were the only ones there so you would have thought this would have been standard procedure preparing for the day. He was kind enough to let us have a taste of a couple of wines before ordering a glass. After tasting all of the reds from the 2015 crop, the first tip off was the distinct aroma, which was strange, unusual and somewhat fermented. As we took our first swallows anticipating the hints of blackberry and spice we were greeted with a distinct aftertaste of a young vinegar. Although we are certainly not wine snobs by any means, in the end analysis we would have to describe the wine offerings as undrinkable.
